WHO WE ARE
We joyfully exemplify God's love by outreach and concern for others.
OUR HISTORY
Mount Elbert United Methodist Church was founded in 1886 in Riner, Virginia and has been an important part of the community ever since.
WHAT WE DO
We are becoming and inviting others to become disciples of Jesus Christ, growing and nurturing in the Christian faith. We are the body through which Jesus Christ works in our community.
OUR COMMUNITY
Mount Elbert is a vibrant, family-oriented community. We're a small church, but we've got a big heart for all of God's children. All people are welcome to worship, to fellowship, and emerge as servants of God.

MEET PASTOR DINAH
As my coffee cup reads, “some of my greatest blessings call me grandma." I have four grandchildren and three special god-grandchildren. My husband Jim and I have been a part of Mount Elbert for 38 years, during which I have served in multiple leadership roles. I received God’s call to ministry shortly after Mount Elbert closed due to low membership. God warmed my heart, and I knew I was to step up to the pulpit and shepherd His children. I then asked for the blessing from the patriarch of Mount Elbert and for the blessing from the District Office; both were given with enthusiasm.
Currently, I am working through the candidacy
program in the Valley and Ridge District of the UMC.
Mt. Elbert, like many churches, is in transition. My goal is to encourage the local community to come and worship,, yet not limit the church to geographics. Mount Elbert opens the door for everyone. Come, let us worship together.
